Dear Caregiver and Logan Memorial Student,
In an effort to help prepare students obtain the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the ongoing demands of the 21st Century, Logan Memorial staff will conduct Core Academy: Supporting Student Achievement Success (CASSAS), a Saturday session for students to receive additional support in their core classes (Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science) but not limited to cooking, sewing, physical education, arts, online learning, robotics, technology, etc. to help support specific student needs. Additionally Core Academy is an opportunity for students to clear attendance hours.
Students attending Core Academy must arrive to the front officer for admission at 8:55 AM. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Release time is at 1:00 pm.-
Core Academy Session Schedule:
9:00 Check in and breakfast in cafeteria
9:30-12:30: Break Out Sessions/Tutoring in Learning Commons
12:30 Lunch meal in the cafeteria
1:00 Dismissal
“A breakfast and lunch meal is available for students attending Core Academy at no charge.”
Students can bring their own computers however no phones or other electronic devices will be allowed. Caregivers and students must be aware that this is an opportunity for students to recover absences. If the student is unable to follow the expected behavior, they may be excused from Core Academy and asked to leave by staff.

En un esfuerzo por ayudar a preparar a los estudiantes para obtener las habilidades y el conocimiento necesarios para satisfacer las demandas constantes del siglo XXI, el personal del campus educativo Logan Memorial llevará a cabo CORE ACADMEY: Supporting Student Achievement Success (CORE ACADEMY), una sesión de los sábados para que los estudiantes reciban apoyo adicional en sus clases principales (matemáticas, artes del lenguaje, estudios sociales, ciencias) o educación física, artes, manualidades, música, teatro, aprendizaje en línea, robótica, tecnología, etc. para ayudar a satisfacer las necesidades específicas de los estudiantes. Además, CORE ACADEMY es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes completen horas de asistencia para participar en eventos de ASB y deportes universitarios.
Los estudiantes que asistan a CORE ACADMEY deben llegar a la entrada principal de la escuela a las 8:55 a. m. No se permitirá la entrada a los que lleguen tarde. La hora de salida es a las 1:00 pm.
“Los estudiantes que asistan a Core Academy podrán desayunar y almorzar gratis”.
Se pueden usar computadoras para las tareas escolares, pero no se permitirán teléfonos ni otros dispositivos electrónicos. Los padres o` tutores y los estudiantes deben saber que esta es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes recuperen las ausencias. Si el estudiante no puede seguir el comportamiento esperado, el personal puede excusarlo de CORE ACADMEY y pedirle que no participe en el programa.
Sabemos que con su apoyo podemos capacitar a nuestros estudiantes para que se gradúen con las habilidades, la motivación, la curiosidad y la resiliencia necesarias para tener éxito en la universidad y la carrera que elijan para liderar y participar en la sociedad del mañana. March 15 (UCSD Begin Your Dreams Fieldtrip permission slip), 22 (LMEC CommUNITY party 10am-2pm)
April 12, 19 (Fieldtrip to Chicano Park Day Celebration permission slip)
May 17 (Fieldtrip to Living Coast in Chula Vista) permission slip
Core Academy participation is made available to all students and students can make up full day absences or unexcused absences by attending. Students can sign up online on this page. The last day to sign up is the Friday before Saturday school.
Please note that we strongly encourage LMEC students with absences and uncleared absences to attend but all LMEC students are welcome at any Core Academy to take part in these educational, novel, and enriching activities. GO EAGLES!
